Packaging Innovations 2020
We’ve been on the road again this week, with our Commercial Director, Simon Burrow, joining a panel discussion at Packaging Innovations, the UK’s leading event for the packaging supply chain.
Simon took his place alongside representatives from XPO Logistics, a transportation and logistics service provider, and software-as-a-service technology company Nulogy to discuss the importance of leveraging value-added services to better serve today’s customer needs.
In recent years, value added services have become vital to third-party logistics (3PLs) as growth drivers and strategic differentiators and the panel provided Simon and the other panellists with the opportunity to discuss the ways in which digitally enabled value-added services are giving logistics customers new ways to serve FMCG brands.
Simon said: “It’s become apparent that 3PLs and their customers can realize huge savings in plastic and cardboard usage while reducing CO2 emissions by reconsidering the end-of-line packaging systems they use. Industry 4.0-enabled secondary packaging systems like the TrakRap System can accelerate eco-innovation and lower operating costs and this panel discussion was the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of this with retailers.
“With many retailers in attendance for the panel discussion, I look forward to discussing the points raised with them in more depth in the near future.”
Held annually at the NEC in Birmingham, Packaging Innovations brings together the packaging industry’s most inspiring primary and secondary packaging solutions providers.
